ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN | CITY OF JEDDAH x TERRES ROUGES
San Francisco and the Golden Gate. London and the Tower Bridge. Paris and the Pont Neuf. New York and the Brooklyn Bridge. To be iconic, you don’t have to be the highest, the widest or the largest. To be iconic you have to get an identity and be a strong gesture. Doing so, you put a landmark in the scenery of the city, you sign it. The BRIDGES OF JEDDAH are four pieces of an architectural masterpiece. It’s our aim and it’s what we’ll do
FOUR BRIDGES TO LIVE A CITY. Al Haramein Road in Jeddah goes through the city and splits it. Building bridges to bring together two sides of a city is a great opportunity to create living areas for the inhabitants while designing an artistic signature as heritage.
THE GREEN BRIDGE is an echo to the nature and will fit the urban scenery, putting a kind of oasis in the city joining both sides of the road. Local and foreign varieties will be planted and useful plants will be used such as bioluminescent or CO2 cleaners varieties.
THE ART OF SCIENCE BRIDGE reminds us the importance of the knowledge and scientific development to build the future. Inspired by the Möbius strip, it is a continuous line that can be follow from the start to the end without getting back.
THE INTERACTIVE BRIDGE is an urban data-responsive installation engineered to reflect the digital pulse of the city. It will result in a connected bridge, a smart city illumination activated by real-time social media activity and big urban data.
THE FUTURE BRIDGE emphasizes the importance of taking in consideration the sustainability in every human initiative. The line is refined and fluid, the walls highlight the solar panels and wind generators, the materials are cutting-edge technologies and the whole bridge is made to be timeless.
