HEGRA AFTER DARK | Immersive Theatrical Performance

HEGRA AFTER DARK

Hegra, AlUla, Saudi Arabia | November 24th, 2023 to January 27th, 2024

IMMERSIVE PLAY | ROYAL COMMISSION FOR ALULA x BALICH WONDER STUDIO

Awad, a powerful merchant is on the look for Husayk, a young incense producer who is known to have the most wonderful and productive incense tree of the region. Scared, Husayk hopes that no one will find his secret garden, with his precious tree... even if the only person he shares it with, is the love of his life, the beautiful Hagar, the daughter of Awad.

HEGRA AFTER DARK is a dive in the most powerful era of the ancient site, when the Nabatean ruled the region and turned stop along the Incense Road into a World Heritage. Made in two steps, a LIVING HISTORICAL REENACTMENT and an IMMERSIVE THEATRICAL PERFORMANCE, that HERITAGE DISCOVERY is made to make the audience feel their roots, wherever they come from.

As soon as the visitors arrive upon the entrance of the path to the SECRET GARDEN OF ALKHORIMAT, the time stops and makes a fast return to the past. The Nabateans are here to guide them to one of their most private place, THE
SECRET GARDEN OF ALKHORIMAT and share one of their most important event THE THEATRE OF LIFE OF JABAL ALBANAT.
At the heart of Hegra's bustling market, merchants compete to attract wealthy travelers, priests pray for prosperity, and artisans showcase their unique artworks. However, beneath the apparent harmony of the market, intrigues are brewing.

It’s an exhilarating narrative journey where you are close to the actors and in the heart of the plot. You walk through the scenery and attend the different scenes of a story that you don’t listen to, but you live.

An Immersive Play designed and directed by RODOLPH NASILLSKI, commissioned by the ROYAL COMMISSION FOR ALULA, and produced by BALICH WONDER STUDIO KSA.
