We sat, but a few people seem not in hurry to come. They walk around the area between the Gate and the seating, discuss, eat and drink… But, we have to begin and we can’t wait for them.  Switch the lights off!
In the darkness, just a few lights are still on, the crowd seems to panic. They go around and run, looking for the exit, finding a way, the wrong one… This huge mess creates a strange sound. The sound of their feet on the ground. The crowd stomps, then tap dances! Gradually, this mess becomes an amazing choreography.
The sound of the crowd’s feet on the ground sounds out louder and louder. Like an echo, all lights are flashing in rhythm until the last movement when the power of 240 feet on the floor switch all remaining lights off.
In the night, stone-by-stone, step-by-step, year-by-year, the Gate is built and 10 years of DIFC’s life pass before our eyes, ending with a huge pyrotechnic finale to celebrate this first decade.
